Position Title: Instructor
Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in sewing basics, sewing, and patternmaking;
- Prepare course outlines including lessons, assignments, workshops, and demonstrations to teach principles, techniques and methods related to sewing and patternmaking based upon the materials prepared;
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate sewing and patternmaking courses with other areas of the fashion design curriculum;
- Modify teaching materials/methods to accommodate student needs;
- Evaluate student progress through assignments, project, and exams, and provide constructive feedback;
- Provide guidance and support to students;
- Organize and participate in workshops, seminars, and fashion events to enhance learning experience and promote schools programs;
- Stay current with fashion industry trends and technologies, incorporating relevant practices into teaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 6 months as a professional at a fashion company or passage of a fashion design program.
- Must have a valid NYS teaching license.
